As a child of the Sixties, I have always been fascinated with tie-dye clothing and psychedelic art: the myriad colors, the geometric beauty. Phosphenes, as I call them, are a natural progression from that love. How did I come up with the name? Phosphenes are an actual 'thing', they are the geometric patterns that seem to appear when you press against your eyes; some of us discovered this phenomenon as children. I went one step further and translated these images into the digital landscape. By the way, if there are any Lorenzo de Medici types out there who would like to be a patron of the arts, I could really use a digital projector for performing "guerilla art" (as I have dubbed it) with my phosphenes, projecting them onto sides of buildings, fountains, etc. - which is why something with a long "throw" (projection distance) is necessary. How much do I have to spend? Absolutely nothing - that's where that "patron of the arts" comes into play.
